Visit a Modern Day Local Village

Today we have an up close and personal visit to a modern day village that is 10 minutes from the hotel As we enter the village we will find curious locals sharing a warm smile and small children waving their hands at you with shy smiles. You will also pass through a few quirky shops, playing local tunes on a small pocket radio as they go on about their daily business. Your host was born and bred in that village. He will invite you to his home to have a cup of tea with his family. During tea, you can have a conversation with this local family about their lifestyle and livelihood to gain better insight on Sri Lankan village life. We will organize an experience where the children interact with the village kids (only during holidays or after school hours). Activities include introducing each other, take part in coloring pictures, learning to count numbers in both Sinhala and English and exchange ideas about their school and activities. We expect this rich interaction and exchange between the children to understand and respect the differences in cultural and value systems in typical local villages.
